But, once again, the language of Scripture is a capacious, complex, and ancient one, especially since, as noted in chapter 1, the linguistic analogy applies equally well to both Testaments, New as well as Old, and yet more broadly still to how the entirety of the Christian Bible fits with and contributes to the language of faith. This fact, combined with the preceding remarks, leads to a second specific recommendation for those in the “pastoral” office.6
